Paul Venables, Director
Paul has accumulated over 35 years of experience using Information Technology to resolve business issues in a broad cross-section of industries, which include manufacturing, finance, government and healthcare.
His training and qualifications have a business and legal emphasis, but the years since 1990 have been focussed in health IT, involving a wide range of projects within Australia and overseas. This has been a critical period, with the healthcare industry facing a combination of business process and budget issues — issues arising from the trend away from an organization-centric approach to care towards a patient or customer-centric care delivery model, combined with a need to increase operating efficiency and reduce operating costs without deterioration in either health outcomes or quality of care.
Paul's background and experience to date also encompasses business process improvement and redesign, manufacturing process change involving major capital acquisitions, development of staff incentive schemes and Trade Union negotiations.
Dr Wilton Braund, Director
Dr Braund is an endocrinologist specialising in diabetes. He is a senior visiting specialist at major public and private hospitals.
As well as extensive experience in the various facets of the health system, Dr Braund maintains an extensive understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the IT industry.
He has been a major contributor to the design of PowerClinical's clinical interfaces, and oversees the ethical and medical issues involved in the handling of clinical data.
