Healthspring’s open architecture allows the same handheld device to access data from other hospital systems, regardless of the age or technological level of the system.

Multi-system access
The majority of legacy health IT systems do not communicate well with other applications. In contrast, Healthspring uses open standards for accessing specialised hospital systems, eg Admissions, Radiology, Pathology, etc.
Multi-hospital access
Healthspring is designed for the practitioner, to support the way they work.
For example, if a clinician worked at 3 hospitals and all of these hospitals had a Healthspring back-end system, the clinician could access data at each of these hospitals using the same handheld device.
The data would always be presented in the same way, regardless of the fact that there are 3 different underlying back-end systems. The clinician does not have to learn how to use 3 different systems, but only the one system — Healthspring.
