More accurate — When you select a medication, the prescribing wizard looks it up in a Medicines Handbook. Only currently available doses can be prescribed and Healthspring ensures correct spelling and legibility.
More complete — The prescribing wizard takes you through the steps to quickly complete the prescription. The form of the medication (eg tablet or capsule) and dose is clearly indicated, avoiding confusion due to ambiguity.
More useful — Once complete, the medication list can be put to other uses. You can add medications into referrals, letters, or requests for care from domiciliary nursing or Hospital in the Home.
Patient safety — Healthspring performs a rapid lookup for each medication, using a prescription process that is faster, more accurate and safer than a conventional prescription.
Messaging — Healthspring can send HL7 messages to pharmacy or dispensing systems.
